Braun has also performed with the Mahler Chamber Orchestra throughout Europe, appearing in both the first and second violin sections. As soloist, he has been featured with the Saarländisches Staatsorchester, the Landesjugendorchester Saar, and numerous Californian orchestras early in his career, including the Westchester, Brentwood, Redlands, Peninsula, and Asia America Symphonies, as well as the Pacific Philharmonic and the Chamber Orchestra of the South Bay.
Los Angeles–born violinist Timothy Braun made his debut with symphony orchestra at the age of nine. He has appeared at international festivals such as Music@Menlo, Villa Musica, Kammermusikfest Kloster Kamp, the Niagara International Music Festival (Canada), Pan Pacific Music Festival (Australia), and the Casalmaggiore Festival (Italy). He has also performed at the Concertgebouw Amsterdam and in major American venues including the Ravinia Festival, Lincoln Center, Avery Fisher Hall, Walt Disney Concert Hall, and the Hollywood Bowl, through the auspices of the Young Musicians Foundation.
An active chamber musician and mentor, Braun has worked with the Villa Musica Foundation as a mentor and regularly serves as violin and string coach for the Landesjugendorchester Saar. He has also performed on stage in productions at the Saarländisches Staatstheater, including Fiddler on the Roof and Die Herzogin von Chicago, where the Saarbrücker Zeitung praised him as “geigerisch und darstellerisch hervorragend.”
Braun studied under Robert Lipsett, Jascha Heifetz Distinguished Chair at the Colburn School in Los Angeles, and under Mihaela Martin at the Hochschule für Musik und Tanz Köln, where he completed his Konzertexamen. He has participated in masterclasses and chamber programs at The International Holland Music Sessions (Amsterdam) and the Itzhak Perlman Chamber Music Institute (New York).
He resides in Saarbrücken, Germany.
